No Me Digas
The Chronicle of Alfonso III calls him pious and moderate. The Chronicle of 754 says nothing about his character. Égica says he was cruel and violent, but he’s not the most reliable source.
Anti-Jewish laws: obligatory baptism, no circumcision, no celebration of Jewish holidays, etc. He (Julian) called Jews a plague on Spain. As you may note, Ervig was very influenced by Julian – these new anti-Jewish laws were ready to go for the Twelfth Council.
The anti-Jewish laws also show how little effect previous anti-Jewish laws had – Ervig obviously thought it necessary to revise the laws on Jews holding Christian slaves etc. when technically there should not be Jews in Spain!

Ortodoxia
Ervig was basically a puppet of the church, so his orthodoxy is pretty standard.
